Jack Goldspur is the reluctant mayor of Jarlaheim. He is rather sluggish and would prefer not to take any responsibility in the town. Jack is the brother of Jill and Angus. He is often seen getting the player to do any work that he has for them, and slacking off.

Etymology[]
Jack is derived from the medieval Jackin (earlier Jankin), as a diminutive of John which is the English form of Iohannes, the Latin form of the Greek name Ιωαννης (Ioannes). It is derived from the Hebrew name יוֹחָנָן (Yochanan) meaning "Yahweh (the God of Israel) is gracious", from the roots יוֹ (yo) referring to the Hebrew God and חָנַן (chanan) meaning "to be gracious".
